Quality Folk Happy Hour with Kate Power and Steve Einhorn,
6:30 - 9pm: Kate Power and Steve Einhorn
have been at the center of the Portland folk scene for years, making
"medicine music that goes to the heart. "Banjos, guitars,
ukeleles and two beautiful voices harmonizing make their music magic.
They've been mentored by Pete Seeger, appeared as guests of Garrison
Keillor, and now they are bringing their music to Airplay Cafe to
share with Portland's families and other folk lovers for a very special
summer series. Enjoy this rare opportunity to hear and vocalize with
these natural musicians. Kate and Steve will play from 6:30 to 7:15,
then the crowd is invited to join in the singing. Full menu, beer
and wine are available. Make a habit of attending and make memories
as harmonizing becomes part of your--or your family's--special summer
activities. Bring your Rise Up Singing songbook if you have

Imagination Theater Puppet Workshop, 11am - noon:
This is a special summer series presented by Yvonne Anselmi of Teeny
Tiny Storytime Theatre. You may have had a chance to catch her charming
puppet shows at Airplay Cafe. Now she is inviting kids ages 3 to 8
to join in a puppet theater workshop. Over the course of four Wednesday,
kids will have the opportunity to make their own puppets and create
a puppet show. Sign up for all 4 classes or drop in week to week,
but be aware class size is limited to just 6 children so advance registration
is strongly recommended. Caregiver must attend. To sign up, email
the names of children who will participate to info@airplaycafe.com,
or ask for the sign-up sheet at the cafe counter. |

Cooper and Bounds
Family Show, 5:30pm, Cooper and Bounds are a San Francisco
based songwriting and singing duo that have been nominated for numerous
folk and songwriting awards. They were the 2007 John Lennon Songwriter's
Contest Grand Prize Winner for best song in the Children's Category.
They are hailed for their beautifully blended voices, instrumentation
and intelligent tunes. Original songs for the whole family, with a
Folk/ World Jazz flavor, about life, the world and funny characters
you might meet along the way. They bring joy to the stage. A treat

Ages Show, 5pm, Lead singer Scott Garred's been called a
father figure in the Portland music scene, which is to say, he's a
great songwriter, who has caught the attention of NPR and local fans
alike. He's also an actual father, which means he and his band like
to play at Airplay Cafe where their kids and their friends and their
friend's kids and all of you and your kids can join them. Catch a
show by this unique, talented band, a true product of Portland. Here
is music that will engage and inspire every member of the family.

Septet takes listeners on a journey with alluring Latin rhythms and

I Love the 70s and 80s All Ages Family Dance Party:
DJ Tom is spinning your favorite classic dance toons, taking requests
and mixing it up to guaranteed everybody gets out on the floor. This
month, it's a HULA HOOP contest with musical prizes for all participants.
